How To Cook Dried Apricots In Aromatic Syrup With Cognac And Walnuts - Recipe

Required products :

  • 500 grams of dried apricots
  • 200 grams of sugar
  • 200 milliliters of water
  • 2 tablespoons fruit syrup of choice (for flavor)
  • 2 tablespoons cognac or liqueur
  • 100 grams of walnuts or other nuts of your choice

 

Method of preparation :

If the apricots are very dry, soak them in water beforehand to soften them. Crush the nuts, but not finely, let them feel whole pieces.

Pour the water into an enamel bowl, add the sugar and boil the syrup (it should be prepared until it turns light brown). Then add to it the fruit for flavor, cognac or liqueur, crushed nuts.

Wait a while for the walnuts to soak in the sweet liquid, then pour the dried apricots into the bowl and cook for 15 minutes, stirring constantly.

This delicacy goes perfectly with ice cream.
