Necessary products

For the dough:

  • 1 packet of fresh yeast (42 grams)
  • 500 milliliters of fresh milk
  • 2 packets of vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • flour as much as the dough absorbs

For the stuffing:

  • sugar and poppy seeds to taste in a ratio of 1: 1
  • other options: raisins, nuts, candied lemon or orange peel, a mixture of sugar and cinnamon

For the glaze:

  • 2 proteins
  • 140 grams of powdered sugar
  • a little lemon juice

Method of preparation :

Knead the dough.

Dissolve the fresh yeast in the warm cow's milk, add the vanilla, half a teaspoon of salt, pour in the oil, add the sugar and finally start adding flour, kneading the dough. It should not be hard and not stick to the hands. Let it rise.

Make the filling by first washing the poppy and wrapping it in two layers of gauze. Put the resulting bundle in a bowl of water and cook for half an hour.

Remove from the water, mix the seeds with the sugar and grind twice.

The glaze is made by beating the egg whites to a stiff foam together with powdered sugar and a little lemon juice.

Once you have prepared all this, start designing the future Easter cake.

Roll out the dough, grease it with a little oil or melted butter and spread the filling on the surface.

Roll up a roll, pinch the ends and then join them to form a circle.

Cut as shown in the next photo. The idea is to give the shape of a flower.

Bake the dough for 20-25 minutes at 180 degrees. It is good to put on a sheet of parchment.

When the Easter cake turns golden, take it out, cover it with the glaze and you can decorate it as you wish.

Enjoy your meal!
