If it turns out that unexpected guests will arrive at any moment and you have nothing to greet them with, we immediately give you a tasty idea. It takes you a little over half an hour to serve them this roll, which is delicious both hot and cold. It goes well with a cup of aromatic coffee and will appeal to young and old. Here's how to prepare it!

Required products :

  • 1 packet of puff pastry (400 grams)
  • 1 large dark chocolate (about 100-120 grams)
  • 1 broken egg
  • 15 grams of sliced almonds

Method of preparation :

Defrost the puff pastry briefly and roll it out slightly. Cut a rectangle measuring 22 by 26 centimeters from it (remove the rest of the dough). Sprinkle flour on the kitchen counter and place the rectangle with the short side facing you.

Place the chocolate in the center lengthwise.

Make diagonal strips on both sides of the chocolate, pointing down (they should be about 3 inches wide). Cut off the rest of the dough, which are the bottom and top of the chocolate.

Transfer the strips over the chocolate, alternating the left and right sides.

Spread the roll with the beaten egg and sprinkle evenly with the almond flakes. Bake for about 22-25 minutes until the puff pastry roll is golden.

If desired, you can use chocolate with nuts or dried fruit, and sprinkle on top with a similar mix.
