How To Cook Eggs In Tomato Sauce With Mozzarella And Basil - Recipe

Learn how to cook "Eggs in tomato sauce with mozzarella and basil". Delicious recipe.

Required products :

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed or finely grated
  • 2 teaspoons marinara sauce
  • 4 fresh basil leaves, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 eggs
  • 100 grams of fresh mozzarella, cut into slices

For garnish :

  • fresh basil

Method of preparation :

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add onion, stir and cook for about 4-5 minutes until translucent and soft.
  • Add the garlic and stew for another 1 minute.
  • Add the marinara sauce, chopped basil, red pepper and season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir.
  • When the tomato sauce is simmering, carefully tap the eggs in the pan and spread the mozzarella slices around them.
  • Cover the pan with a lid, reduce the heat and let them cover for about 8-9 minutes.
  • Serve the eggs warm, garnished with fresh basil.
