Instead of buying from the store, stock up on energy bars with this very tasty recipe for homemade bars. Whether you consume them as a snack after a workout or for recharging and recovery, they will give your body what you need. The best part is that you can cook them quickly and in just a few minutes.

Required products :

for 12 bars:

  • 1 cup roasted peanuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup crispy brown rice
  • 1/2 cup whole grain oatmeal
  • 1/3 cup raw pumpkin seeds (or sunflower seeds)
  • 1/4 cup dried blueberries
  • 6 dried apricots, cut into cubes
  • 3 tablespoons mini chocolate chips
  • 5 tablespoons rice syrup (or corn syrup)

* A tea cup is used to measure the quantities.

* People with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity should use gluten-free oatmeal.

Method of preparation :

Preheat oven to 160 degrees. Put baking paper in a square tray measuring 20 cm and grease with olive oil.

Mix peanuts, rice, oats, pumpkin seeds (or sunflower seeds), blueberries, apricots and chocolate chips in a large bowl. Sprinkle with rice syrup (or corn) and mix gently to mix all ingredients.

Spread the mixture in the prepared square pan. Press with another pan so that the mixture is compressed and put in the oven to bake for 20-25 minutes (in a metal pan) or for 30-35 minutes (in a glass pan) or until the edges are golden.

Then remove the pan from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes at room temperature, then on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Carefully lift the baked square from the pan and cut in half, then each half transversely into 6 bars.

Consume before or after a workout or store by wrapping in baking paper for up to 1 week or in a box in the freezer.

Have a good time!
