How To Cook Fresh Cabbage Schnitzels In Yellow Cheese Breading With Walnuts - Recipe

Learn how to cook "Fresh cabbage schnitzels in yellow cheese breading with walnuts". Delicious recipe.

Required products :

  • 1 small fresh cabbage weighing about 700 grams
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 grams of yellow cheese
  • 100 grams of walnuts
  • 4 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 100 milliliters of oil
  • black pepper and salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • flour

Method of preparation :

Wash the cabbage and cut it into large pieces (schnitzels). In order not to fall apart during cooking, you may not cut the head completely, it will preserve the integrity of the pieces. Don't worry about the fact that it is firm, because that of young cabbage is not like that, and it is tasty enough.

Carefully put the cabbage in a pot of boiling water (salt it) for 3 minutes. Then drain the liquid and allow the vegetables to cool.

Lightly dry the walnuts in a pan, peel them, grind and mix with the breadcrumbs.

Beat the eggs and pour 2 tablespoons of water over them. Add the coarsely grated yellow cheese, season with black pepper, add salt to taste and stir.

Roll each piece of cabbage in flour, then dip in the eggs and finish the breading with the mixture of walnuts and breadcrumbs.

Fry the cabbage schnitzels in hot oil until golden on both sides (about 2-3 minutes each).

It can be served as a side dish to meat and fish or as a stand-alone dish with the addition of sour cream with fresh green spices.

Enjoy your meal!
