Required products :

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 large apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 tea cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 tea cup freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon + 2 tablespoons apple cider
  • 1/2 teaspoon starch - natural

Method of preparation :

Melt the butter in a large pan and add the apples and sugar, season. Stir to flavor all the apple slices. Once the sugar crystals dissolve, add a quarter cup of apple cider. Simmer for 15 minutes under a lid until the fruit softens.

Using a slotted spoon, remove the apples from the pan.

Mix 2 tablespoons of apple cider with half a teaspoon of starch and pour the mixture to the hot sauce in the pan. Stir, after 2-3 minutes the sauce will be ready when it has thickened.

Drizzle with apples and optionally serve with a scoop of ice cream while the fruit is still warm.
