Required products :
500 grams of jasmine rice
100 milliliters of olive oil
6 cloves garlic
2 bay leaves
coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
water, chicken or vegetable broth
Method of preparation :
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the garlic, peeled and cut into large pieces. Let it fry for about 2 minutes, stirring. Be careful not to burn the cloves, they just need to release their aroma.
When this happens, pour the rice into the bowl and fry together with the garlic for about 30 seconds so that the grains absorb the fat.
Add the bay leaves, add salt and pepper to taste and pour water, chicken or vegetable broth, the amount of which should cover the rice by about 1 centimeter.
Once the mixture boils, reduce the heat to low and let the rice cook under a lid for about 12 minutes.
Remove from the heat and let the dish stand for a while before serving to absorb all the liquid.
Serve warm.
