Required products :

  • 1 packet of chocolate brownie mixture
  • 1 cup condensed milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, soft
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup crushed walnuts (or pecans)
  • 1 and 1/2 cups sweetened coconut shavings
  • 3 egg yolks, salted with a pinch of salt

Method of preparation :

Prepare the brownie mixture according to the package instructions and refrigerate for 20 minutes.

To prepare the glaze, pour the condensed milk, sugar, egg yolks, butter and vanilla extract into a large bowl and beat with a mixer on low speed until homogenous.

Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it starts to boil and acquire a rich caramel color (about 12 minutes), then cook for another 10 minutes. Pour the coconut shavings and walnuts, stir and remove the pan from the heat.

Cool until thickened enough, stirring often. Spread the glaze evenly with a silicone spatula on the cooled brownies. Leave to stand for a few minutes and serve.
