Learn how to cook "Greek donuts lukumades with honey, walnuts and cinnamon". Delicious recipe.

Necessary products

For the dough :

640 grams of flour

640 milliliters of warm water or milk or 500 milliliters of water + 2 eggs

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon sugar

16 - 18 grams of dry yeast or 25 - 30 grams of mercury

frying fat

cinnamon and walnuts for sprinkling

For syrup :

640 grams of sugar

320 milliliters of water

1 - 2 tablespoons honey

peel of 1 lemon + a few drops of lemon juice

Method of preparation :

Dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water and wait a few minutes for the foam to form. Mix with the other products and knead a homogeneous dough. It should be elastic, not stick to the hands, but not firm. Wrap it in a towel and store in a warm place for about an hour to rise.

Heat oil in a suitable pan, tear off the dough pieces and fry them. Remove the reddened donuts with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel to drain off excess fat.

Make the syrup. Pour the water into a saucepan, add the sugar, lemon zest and juice. Cook for 5 - 10 minutes, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Put honey on the end and remove the syrup from the stove. Pour the donuts with it.

Sprinkle with cinnamon and ground walnuts and enjoy the Greek delicacy.

Enjoy your meal!
