Apple pie may not be very popular in Bulgaria, but here we have many recipes that use baked apples, so its taste is not unknown. All we have to do is overcome the technology of preparation. Today we present you an easy way to make apple pie, where you do not even have to turn on the oven, but you can use the barbecue while baking meat and vegetables for dinner.

Required products :

  • 2 teaspoons + 2 tablespoons flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup butter + 1/4 cup (cold)
  • 5 tablespoons ice cold water
  • 1/4 tea cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • a pinch of cloves
  • 6 apples, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • vanilla ice cream and grated cheddar for serving

Method of preparation :

Add 1 1/2 teaspoons of flour and add half a cup of butter, transfer to a blender and grind to obtain crumbs. If you do not have a robot, rub the oil into the mixture with your fingers.

Add the ice-cold water, spoon by spoon, and knead to form a dough. As soon as the dough starts to stick, stop adding the liquid. Using foil, shape it into a ball and wrap, cool for 20 minutes.

Roll out the dough and place it in a suitable container (you can use a fireproof pan, pie pan), and make a board on the walls to get the characteristic pie pattern.

Turn on the grill (barbecue) to heat.

In a small bowl, add the white sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves.

Pour lemon juice over the thinly sliced ​​apples, add the seasoned sugar to them, stir.

Mix the remaining 1/2 cup of flour with the brown sugar. Add the butter and stir (by hand or in a robot) until crumbs are formed. Sprinkle the apples with the resulting mixture.

Pour over the pie pan and bake for 50-60 minutes on the grill (if it closes, you can bake under a lid).

Leave for 10 minutes before serving.

Serve with vanilla ice cream and sprinkle with grated cheddar (no mistake, we are talking about cheddar cheese).
