Required products :

  • 1.5 cups of semolina
  • 6 teaspoons water
  • 6 tablespoons butter (or unscented oil)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 tablespoons almonds
  • a handful of raisins
  • 1 tablespoon cardamom

 

Method of preparation :

Crush the cardamom seeds. Pour boiling water over the almonds and raisins, drain the water after 5 minutes, pour cold almonds over the almonds and pour the raisins into a colander to drain the liquid.

Let the nuts stand for 10 minutes in cold water, then peel them. Dry.

Heat the butter in a deep pan, fry the almonds, cool and grind with a blender (not very finely).

Pour semolina and cardamom in the same fat, reduce the heat to a minimum and let it cook until golden (about 10 minutes), stirring constantly.

Bring the water to a boil.

In a bowl with semolina add sugar, raisins, almonds, stir, gradually pour the water, stirring constantly. Leave the mixture on the stove for another 5 minutes.

Then distribute in suitable bowls or pour into a tray (thin layer) lined with baking paper.

Put the halva in the refrigerator in a tightly closed container. Before serving, you can pour honey or your favorite syrup.
