How To Cook Guzlemi With Ricotta Cheese And Roasted Figs - Recipe

Necessary products / for 6 pieces / :

For the guzlems :

  • 2 eggs / separated egg yolks /
  • 90 milliliters of fresh milk
  • 65 grams of flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 150 grams of ricotta cheese
  • pinch of salt

For roasted figs :

  • 3-4 ripe figs
  • 3 teaspoons honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • honey for garnish

Method of preparation :

  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  • Cut the figs into quarters and arrange them in a pan.
  • Sprinkle with honey, cinnamon and vanilla and bake for about 12-15 minutes until soft and caramelized.
  • Meanwhile, in a large bowl, beat the yolks with the milk, flour, baking powder, vanilla and salt using a fork.
  • Add ricotta cheese to them and mix until a homogeneous mixture.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites in the snow and add them to the dough. Stir.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and place a small lump of butter.
  • Once melted, pour in the center 1/6 of the dough and form the first guzlema. Let the dough not occupy the entire bottom of the pan.
  • Bake for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Repeat with the rest of the dough.
  • Serve the guzlemi warm, garnished with roasted figs and generously sprinkled with honey.

 

Note!

You can serve them with fig jam or something else, according to taste.
