How To Cook Homemade Bread With Walnuts And Honey - Recipe

Required products :

  • 200 grams of chopped walnuts
  • 360 grams of unbleached flour
  • 100 grams of wholemeal flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 tea cup of honey
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 1/3 tea cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons walnut oil or olive oil

Method of preparation :

 

  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees and cover pan with parchment paper.
  • Distribute the walnuts in it and bake them for 8-10 minutes.
  • Allow to cool and cut.
  • In a medium bowl, mix the walnuts, flour and salt. Set aside.
  • Combine honey, yeast and warm water in a large bowl. Stir and let the mixture stand for 10 minutes.
  • Add the walnut oil and stir briefly.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir with a wooden spoon
  • If the dough is too dry, add 1 tablespoon of water and so on until it starts to knead lightly, but still stands a little "shaggy".
  • Remove to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until soft and slightly moist dough.
  • Put it in a greased bowl, cover and leave to rise for about 1 hour until it doubles in size.
  • Take it out again on a floured surface and shape the bread with your palms without kneading it.
  • Cover a baking tray with parchment paper and grease it.
  • Transfer the bread to it, cover with plastic wrap and leave to rise for 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and bake the bread for 10 minutes.
  • Reduce the temperature to 180 degrees and bake for another 45-50 minutes.
  • Allow the walnut bread to cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
