Required products :

  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter, unsalted and softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon of sea salt / for salted caramel on request /

Method of preparation :

  • In a deep saucepan, heat the sugar over medium heat.
  • Stir when it begins to melt until you get a light amber color.
  • Carefully add the butter and stir again.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and slowly add the cream. Mix well until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. If the caramel crosses, return the pan to the hob and heat the sauce slightly until smooth.
  • Add salt if you want to make salted caramel.
  • Allow the sauce to cool to room temperature and transfer to a fireproof dish. Store in a refrigerator if you are not going to use it right away.
  • Warm the caramel sauce before serving it to your favorite sweet temptations.
