Required product and:

  • 1 tablespoon dry active yeast
  • 1 teaspoon warm water
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 - 3 1/2 teaspoons flour
  • 1/4 tea cup melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2/3 tea cup raisins
  • 2 teaspoons powdered sugar
  • 2 - 3 tablespoons fresh milk
  • 1/2 cup ground walnuts

Method of preparation :

Mix the yeast with warm water and wait 5 minutes. Stir with a wooden spoon.

In a large bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of sugar, margarine, egg, half the flour, add the yeast, salt and stir. Add the remaining flour and knead the dough. Put it in a greased form and cover with foil. Leave for an hour, during this time, it should rise. If you are not going to use it right away, keep in mind that it can be stored in the refrigerator for 4 days, and before use, leave for a few hours at room temperature.

Put the dough on a plate sprinkled with flour and knead for a few minutes. Divide into two parts. Roll one into a rectangular shape and smear the surface with melted butter using a brush.

In a small bowl, mix the remaining two tablespoons of sugar with the cinnamon. Spread half of the mixture on the dough, add half of the raisins. Roll the dough into a roll and place it in the prepared form. Repeat with the rest of the dough. Cover the two rolls with foil greased with oil and leave in a warm place for 40-45 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare a icing of powdered sugar and milk.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and let the bread bake for 30-35 minutes. When ready, wait for it to cool, cover with icing and sprinkle with walnuts.
