Necessary products:

400 grams of puff pastry

300-400 grams of nuts

300-400 grams of sugar

150-200 grams of honey for the syrup (can be replaced with a cup of sugar)

100 grams of butter

1 egg

1 tsp cardamom (optional)

1 tsp cinnamon

Water and good mood :)

Method of preparation:

When our dough is ready, we leave it to thaw and move on to making the filling.

Crush the nuts and mix them with the sugar in a ratio of 50:50. Add a teaspoon of ground cardamom and cinnamon.

Roll out the dough, divide one sheet into 2 parts - these will be the bottom and top layer of baklava and should be slightly thicker than the others. Divide the other sheet into 4, which will be the middle layers. We start arranging the layers in a baking dish greased with oil (we can use baking paper). We have to melt the oil beforehand, we will need it to spread on the sheets.

Apply the first layer, grease with oil and put the stuffing. We do not save from it, but we do not overdo it so that it does not become very thick. We continue with the arrangement: dough, butter, filling and so on until the products are finished. Spread the last leaf with beaten egg yolk to get a beautiful crust. Now we have to cut the baklava, because it will be difficult after baking (in squares or diamonds - you choose). Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 30 minutes.

While the baklava is baking, we prepare the syrup:

In 3-4 glasses of water dissolve 4-5 tablespoons of honey (if it is difficult to dissolve, you can do this in a water bath). If we use sugar instead of honey, then dissolve the sugar in 1-2 cups of warm water.

Remove the baklava from the oven and pour plenty of syrup. It should almost "sink" into it. Allow to cool and soak.
