Required products :

  • 1 cup fresh milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey
  • 1/4 cup butter + 2 tablespoons melted
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons slightly warm water
  • 2 sachets of dry yeast
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons flour
  • 5 teaspoons wholemeal flour

Method of preparation :

In a small saucepan, heat the milk, when it boils, remove from the heat and add honey, butter, sugar and salt. Stir to melt all the products and wait for the liquid to cool until it reaches a little higher than body temperature.

Put the yeast in the bowl of water and stir to dissolve. Mix with the milk.

Add the flour, stirring with a spatula. When the dough begins to form a ball, mix by hand.

Sprinkle the kitchen counter with flour and turn the bowl with the dough on the counter. Leave to stand for 10 minutes.

Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it becomes elastic.

Transfer to a bowl and leave to rise under a towel until it doubles in volume - about 1 hour.

Divide into two equal parts and leave again for 10 minutes, covered with a towel.

Spread two cake tins (bread) and form two loaves of dough into them.

Grease with melted butter and cover again with a towel. Wait for re-fermentation for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Bake them at 200 degrees in a preheated oven for 40-50 minutes. The surface of the loaves should have become brown and crispy, and when tapped they should make a hollow sound.

Carefully remove from the molds and cool completely before cutting. Enjoy the delicious bread with honey.
