How To Cook Honey Cake With Nuts, Dried Fruits, Orange Peel And Cinnamon - Recipe

We share with you a recipe for a  traditional Italian Christmas cake , known as "Panforte". Extremely tasty and not complicated to prepare.

 

 

Required products :

 

450 grams of blanched almonds

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

180 grams of dried apricots

180 grams of hazelnuts

400 grams of honey

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon flour

450 grams of sugar

powdered sugar for sprinkling

90 grams of butter

1 teaspoon salt

150 grams of dried figs

350 grams of candied orange peel

 

Method of preparation :

Grind dried fruits and nuts. In a separate deep bowl, mix the flour, salt and spices. Add the nuts and fruits to them, mix everything very well.

In another bowl, mix the sugar, honey and butter. Put the combination on low heat and wait for it to boil.

Pour the hot mixture over the mix of nuts, flour and fruit. Mix and distribute the resulting combination evenly in a suitable form. Place in the oven and let the dessert bake at 160 degrees for about 30 minutes (the mixture should boil).

The combination can be stored in the refrigerator for up to several days.

 

Cut the finished cake into thick pieces, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
