Necessary products

For the dough:

170 milliliters of water
1/3 teaspoon semolina
1 tablespoon yogurt
150 grams of flour
1/4 teaspoon soda

For syrup:

250 milliliters of water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
500 grams of sugar
1 gram of saffron

200 milliliters of frying oil

Method of preparation :

Sift the flour into a deep bowl, add the semolina and stir. Then add the yogurt, soda and water. Beat everything with a wire whisk until smooth.
Cover the dough with a towel and let stand for 2 hours at room temperature.

Meanwhile, make the syrup.

Pour the sugar into a suitable saucepan and pour the water, lemon juice and saffron. Place the pan on the hob and let the mixture boil, stirring constantly. Allow to simmer for 5-7 minutes on low heat, then allow to cool to room temperature.

Fill a pastry syringe with the dough using a small hole. Heat the oil in a pan and form spirals directly in it. Fry them for 2 minutes on each side until golden. Remove the finished on paper to absorb excess fat.

Then dip them in the sugar syrup for about 30-40 seconds.

The Indian sweet called Jalebi is ready.
