How To Cook Irish Soda Bread With Buttermilk And Raisins - Recipe

Required products :

  • 3 1/2 teaspoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 1/4 tea cups raisins
  • 1 3/4 tea cups buttermilk
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Method of preparation :

 

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and grease a round pan with oil.
  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • Add the cumin seeds and raisins and stir.
  • In a small bowl, mix the buttermilk, eggs and butter.
  • Add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients and stir with a wooden spoon.
  • Knead your palms, knead the dough briefly and form a loaf.
  • Transfer it to the pan and make an X-shaped incision about 2.5 cm deep to bake in the middle.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes until golden crispy crust.
  • Allow the bread to cool before slicing and serving.
