How To Cook Italian Cakes Stuffed With Minced Meat, Tomato Sauce And Cheese - Recipe

Required products :

  • 6 loaves of bread
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons mozzarella cheese, crushed
  • 1/4 tea cup parmesan, freshly grated

About the filling :

  • 230 grams of minced pork
  • 230 grams of minced beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 tea cup freshly grated Parmesan
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • a pinch of nutmeg
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons marinara sauce

Method of preparation :

 

  • In a large bowl, combine the two types of minced meat, egg, breadcrumbs, parmesan, garlic and onion powder, allspice and nutmeg. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  • Stir with a wooden spoon and shape with your palms 18-20 meatballs.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and fry for 3-4 minutes until browned on all sides.
  • Add the tomato sauce, stir and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees and cover the bottom of the pan with parchment paper.
  • Cut the loaves lengthwise without halving them and distribute the meatballs with the tomato sauce.
  • Sprinkle with mozzarella and parmesan and bake for 5-6 minutes until the cheeses are melted.
  • Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve.
