Required products :

700 milliliters of water

380 grams of lentils

600 grams of brown sugar

grapefruit peel to taste

lemon peel to taste

lemon juice to taste

3 tablespoons cocoa powder

1 vanilla

walnuts to taste

ginger to taste

 

Method of preparation :

Fill the lentils with cold water, bring to a boil and remove the foam. Reduce the heat to low and bring to the boil.

Grate the citrus peels finely (1 lemon, 1 grapefruit or orange, or to taste) and ginger (for example, about 2 centimeters).

Cut the walnuts and bake in a dry pan.

When the lentils are cooked, add the ginger, citrus peels, brown sugar and vanilla.

Let everything boil for 15 minutes, stirring constantly.

Leave the resulting mixture to stand for 6 hours or overnight. Then place on the stove, bring to a boil again and strain.

Add the cocoa, lemon juice and walnuts. Stir, bring the mixture to a boil again and distribute in jars.

The next morning you can spread a toast with marmalade and enjoy its taste.
