Necessary products:

  • 6 chicken legs
  • juice and peel of half a lemon
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 cm ginger root
  • 120 grams of peeled peanuts
  • pinch of red hot pepper

Method of preparation:

Make the marinade by mixing the juice and zest of the lemon, soy sauce, honey, grated ginger and hot pepper. Put the legs in it for 2 hours (if you wish, you can salt them in advance). While they are marinating, prepare the breading: put the peanuts in the microwave on medium power for literally 2 minutes, then grind them, but not too finely (or crush them).

Remove the meat from the marinade, roll well in the crushed peanuts, arrange in a pan, pour the remaining marinade and put in the oven to bake for 40 minutes, periodically pouring the legs with the juice that separates.

Such marinades containing honey caramelize quickly, so it is necessary to monitor the dish so as not to burn. To avoid this, you can cover the legs with foil in the middle of baking.

Given that the dish is based on Chinese cuisine, the most suitable side dish to it is rice.

It turns out extremely tasty!
