Required products :

  • 1 kilogram of kumquat
  • 1 kg of sugar
  • 250 milliliters of water

Method of preparation :

  • Sterilize 4-5 jars of jam and put 1 metal spoon in each so that they do not burst when you pour the hot jam.
  • Wash the fruits well and dry them with kitchen paper.
  • Cut them into circles and after removing the seeds, cut into strips.
  • Collect the seeds in clean cheesecloth and tie it tightly. They contain pectin and will give a distinctive taste to marmalade.
  • Heat the chopped kumquat and pits in a large saucepan over high heat.
  • Cook for a few minutes until the crust softens, stirring constantly.
  • Add the water and after 2-3 minutes add the sugar.
  • Boil the marmalade for about 15 minutes until the sugar has melted and the skin of the fruit has become translucent.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and remove the bag with the seeds. Allow the jam to cool for about 15 minutes.
  • Stir well to distribute the crusts evenly and pour into pre-prepared jars.
  • Close the caps tightly and store in the refrigerator. If you want to preserve the marmalade, pour it hot into the jars, close them and turn them upside down until cool.

Enjoy!
