Necessary products

For the meatballs:

  • 700 grams of minced meat (we are equal parts of chicken and beef)
  • 1/2 teaspoon mixture of different types of ground pepper
  • 1.5 teaspoons coarse sea salt
  • 1/3 teaspoon ground marjoram
  • 2 heads of shallots
  • 320 grams of sliced smoked pork breast

For the vegetable sauce:

  • 2 medium-sized carrots
  • 3 heads of shallots (can be replaced with onions)
  • 1 tablespoon hot tomato sauce
  • 180 milliliters of hot water
  • 1.5 teaspoons coarse salt
  • 1/2 bunch fresh dill
  • olive oil

Method of preparation :

Grind or grate the onion for the meatballs, add it to the minced meat and season it. Mix well.

Cut onion sauce into semicircles, grate carrots and stew both vegetables in olive oil. Add the tomato sauce dissolved in hot water and add salt. Add a small portion of finely chopped dill. Stir and transfer the sauce to a glass or ceramic baking dish.

Make round meatballs from the minced meat, wrap each of them in a piece of smoked breast and arrange in the pan with the still hot vegetable sauce. If you have minced meat left, distribute it among the meatballs.

Close the form with aluminum foil or put a lid, put in the oven and cook the dish at 160 degrees for 40 minutes.

Then remove the coating and leave the dish for another 3-4 minutes in the oven.

Serve the meatballs immediately, sprinkling them with the remaining fresh dill.

Have a good time!
