How To Cook Men's Candy - Caramelized Walnuts With Bacon - Recipe

Required products :

For bacon :

  • 200 grams of bacon, cut into small cubes
  • 1/4 tea cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  • pinch of salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • peel of 1 lemon

For nuts :

  • 2 cups walnuts, chopped in bulk
  • 1/4 tea cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  • freshly ground black pepper

Method of preparation :

 

  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  • Cover the bottom of a large baking tray with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix the ingredients for the candied bacon and mix well with your fingers.
  • In another bowl, mix the ingredients for the candied nuts and stir again.
  • Spread the bacon in the pan and bake for about 10 minutes until browned and the sugar melts.
  • Transfer to the bowl with the nuts and mix well.
  • Replace the baking paper with a new one and spread the bacon with the nuts on it.
  • Bake for another 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Turn off the oven and open its door.
  • After about 15 minutes, remove the pan from the oven and allow the men's candies to cool completely.
  • Break them into pieces and serve in bowls.
  • Store the remaining amount in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
