Required products (for 8 servings) :

  • 200 grams of round grain rice
  • peel of 1 lemon
  • peel of 1 orange
  • 1 liter of high-fat milk
  • 100 grams of white sugar
  •  

For syrup:

  • 85 grams of raisins
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 100 grams of brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons high-fat cream
  •  

Method of preparation :

Pour the rice into a saucepan, pour 500 milliliters of water, add the grated rind of lemon and orange. Place the dish on the stove and when the water boils, close with a lid, reduce the temperature and let everything cook for 15 minutes until the rice absorbs the liquid. Then add the milk, sugar and cook for another 20-25 minutes, stirring often until the mixture thickens.

Make the syrup.

Pour the raisins into a small saucepan, add the brown sugar, cinnamon and pour 100 milliliters of water. Heat to melt the sugar, then let the syrup boil until thickened. When this happens, add the cream and allow to cool.

Serve the rice dessert with the aromatic syrup.
