Required products :

  • 2/3 cup millet
  • 2-3 medium potatoes
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 medium carrot
  • 1 head of garlic (whole head)
  • 1-1.5 liters of meat or vegetable broth
  • 100 grams of tomato puree or any homemade tomato preparations.
  • salt and pepper - to taste.

Method of preparation :

The millet is washed several times with hot water until the water becomes clear. Then pour boiling water and leave for 20 minutes. The broth boils and we add the already swollen grains and let it boil for 15 minutes. Salt to taste. Then, cut the carrots into thin strips, the potatoes into cubes and the onions into small pieces. Add the vegetables to the soup and cook for another 10 minutes. After the potatoes are cooked, add the tomato juice or other tomato preparations. Bring to a boil and turn off the heat. Then, we put the garlic cloves, which we have previously crushed with a knife and cut into small pieces.

Let the soup absorb the products for 15 minutes and serve with sour cream.
