How To Cook Moroccan Flat Bread In A Pan / Harcha / - Recipe

Required products :

  • 350 grams of fine semolina
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup fresh milk / or more if needed /
  • 1/4 tea cup large semolina / optional /

Method of preparation :

  • In a large bowl, mix the fine semolina with the sugar, baking powder and salt.
  • Add the melted butter and stir briefly.
  • Add 1/2 cup of milk and use your palms to knead a moist dough that is easy to shape. If the dough is too dry, add a little milk.
  • Divide it into equal parts the size of a walnut and form balls. Let them rest for a few minutes.
  • Roll in coarse semolina and roll to a thickness of about 5-6 millimeters.
  • Heat a large skillet with a non-stick coating over medium heat.
  • Bake the bread for 5-10 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Serve warm with homemade jam, cheese or butter. Or make a sweet syrup by heating equal parts honey and butter until completely melted.
