How To Cook Moroccan Lentil Stew With Chickpeas And Lamb - Recipe

Required products :

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 700 grams of minced lamb
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 liter of beef broth
  • 2 cans of 400 grams of tomatoes
  • 1/2 bunch parsley or coriander
  • 2 cans of 400 grams of chickpeas
  • 2 cans of 400 grams of lentils
  • yoghurt

Method of preparation :

Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Season the minced meat and fry until browned, about 4-5 minutes. Transfer to a plate and set aside.

Put onion and garlic in the pan, fry for 3-4 minutes. Return the minced meat to the bowl and add the tomato paste, spices and bay leaf.

After a minute, add the broth and parsley. Cook under a lid on low heat for 1 hour. Add the lentils and chickpeas. Cover with a lid and cook for another 30 minutes, then remove the lid and after 30 minutes remove the dish from the heat.

Garnish with coriander and yogurt.
