Sift the flour, spices and baking powder into a bowl. In another bowl, mix the apple sauce with the brown sugar, eggs, vanilla and oil. Stir with a fork and pour the flour into the mixture in portions. Stir to combine the products.
In a bowl, mix the cream cheese and sugar, add the vanilla and make a soft fluffy cream.
Grease a muffin tin with 12 slots.
Divide the dough between them, and in the center of each put 1 teaspoon of cream. Pass a toothpick through the cream several times.
Bake for 18 minutes until the muffins are browned at the edges.
Wait for the muffins to cool in their tins for 5 minutes before serving.
