How To Cook Mulled Wine From Red Wine With Maple Syrup - Recipe

Required products :

  • 750 milliliters of dry red wine
  • 1/2 teaspoon brandy
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1 orange
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 lime
  • 1/2 teaspoon maple syrup
  • 5 cloves
  • 1/2 nutmeg
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 pod of vanilla
  • 2 stars anise

 

Method of preparation :

Wash the citrus fruits, peel them and squeeze the orange juice. Divide the vanilla pod in half crosswise.

In a deep saucepan pour the water, maple syrup (or sugar), add the fruit peels and orange juice. Then add the vanilla, anise, cloves and cinnamon, also the grated nutmeg. Put on the stove on the stove and bring the mixture to a boil, then let it cook for an hour on medium heat.

30 minutes later pour 1/2 cup of wine. Once the syrup is ready, turn on the stove (low temperature), pour the remaining wine, brandy (optional), increase the temperature and let everything boil for 5 minutes on high heat.

It remains to distribute the drink in glasses and serve warm.
