Required products :

  • 2 kilograms of nettles
  • 4 onions
  • 1 teaspoon corn flour
  • 5 - 6 cloves of garlic
  • 100 milliliters of vegetable oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

 

Method of preparation :

Clean the nettle of dry parts, grass and coarse stems. Wash it thoroughly several times, then pour boiling water and leave for a few minutes.

Finely chop the onion, fry it until golden brown in the oil, pour a little water (for example 100 - 150 milliliters), with which you scalded the nettle.

Crush the garlic and add it at the end of cooking to keep its aroma.

Finely chop the nettle, add onion, salt, pepper and leave for a few minutes.

To get a thick consistency, add the corn flour and a little of the broth (about 150 - 200 milliliters).

Put the combination on the stove and let it boil for 8 - 10 minutes. Stir periodically so as not to burn.

Serve the puree with toasted slices, porridge, mamaliga.
