Required products :

  • 1/2 teaspoon honey, plus 2 tbsp
  • 1 1/3 teaspoon sugar, plus 1 tbsp
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons roasted almonds
  • 1/4 tea pistachio

Method of preparation :

  • Heat the main amount of sugar, corn syrup and water in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has melted.
  • In a clean, dry bowl, beat the egg whites with 1 tablespoon of sugar.
  • In another saucepan, heat the honey and slowly begin to add the egg whites, stirring constantly with the mixer on low speed.
  • Add the sugar syrup and continue beating at the same speed for about 5 minutes.
  • Lightly heat the almonds and pistachios in a pan over medium heat and add them to the mixture. Stir well to distribute evenly.
  • Pour the finished nougat into a loaf pan and leave to cool overnight at room temperature.
  • The next day, take it out of the mold and cut it into 6 slices using a serrated knife.
  • Wrap each piece in baking paper to protect it from moisture and store in an airtight container.
  • Shelf life - 1 week.
