This dessert is perfect for special events. Decorate with beautiful edible flowers, slices of citrus fruits and fine pieces of gently melting chocolate.

Required products :

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1-2 oranges, grated and squeezed
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 2/3 cup low-fat milk + 1/3 cup cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • pinch of salt

for decoration:

  • edible flowers
  • black chocolate
  • slices of citrus fruit

* A tea cup is used to measure the quantities.

Method of preparation :

Preheat oven to 160 degrees. Put a pie pan in a large deep pan.

Heat 1/2 cup sugar in a large skillet and cook, stirring, until caramel is formed. Pour it evenly into the pie pan. In a large bowl, mix the orange peels and juice, eggs, milk, sour cream, 1/4 cup sugar and salt until smooth and pour the mixture into the pie pan. Fill the deep pan with water to the middle of the pie tin.

Bake the fruit pie for about 55 minutes or until done. Carefully remove from the pie tin and allow to cool on a wire rack. Cover and let stand for 4 to 24 hours. Serve garnished with edible flowers, citrus fruits or anything else of your choice.
