Required products :

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 stalks of celery, cut
  • 3 crushed garlic cloves
  • 500 grams of ham
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 500 grams of dry peas
  • 1 liter of chicken broth
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons water

Method of preparation :

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. When liquefied, add the chopped onion, celery and garlic. Fry until onion is ready - about 5-8 minutes.

While the vegetables are simmering, cut the ham into small cubes. Add it to the onion along with the bay leaf and peas. Pour the chicken broth and water. Stir and simmer on low heat for 1 hour and 15 minutes until the peas are completely cooked and decomposed.

Season the pea soup with salt and pepper to taste and serve.
