How To Cook Pea With Minced Meat - Recipe

Try this spicy Indian dish served with Shankarpari fried cakes, chutney and cold yogurt.

Required products :

  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 4 cm ginger root, grated
  • 2 green hot peppers, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 500 grams of minced lamb
  • 2 tablespoons garam masala
  • 2 teaspoons turmeric
  • 1/2 can of diced tomatoes (or 2 fresh tomatoes)
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt, chilled
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 200 grams of peas, frozen or cooked
  • 1 small bunch fresh coriander, chopped

Method of preparation :

Mix onion, garlic, ginger and hot peppers. Heat olive oil and fry the vegetables until soft.

Add the minced meat and continue to fry until it starts to brown, stirring to break up any lumps.

Season with garam masala and turmeric, add the tomatoes and leave on low heat for 1 minute, then pour the yogurt, season with salt and pepper to taste.

Pour a little water if necessary and continue cooking for about 30 minutes or until the minced meat is cooked.

Pour the peas and after 5 minutes sprinkle with fresh coriander. Mix and serve the dish with Indian fried shankarpari cakes or Indian popadam cakes, chutney and extra yogurt.
