Necessary products

For the dough:

  • 110-125 grams of butter
  • 1 teaspoon flour + 2 more tablespoons
  • 1/4 tea cup warm milk
  • 1 teaspoon dry yeast
  • 1-2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg + 1 yolk to spread

For the stuffing:

  • 250-300 grams of cream cheese
  • 1/4 tea cup sugar or amount to taste
  • 1 cup dried apricots (can be replaced with raisins, orange or apricot jam)

A 240 ml beaker was used to measure the indicated quantities of products.

To bake the pie, a form measuring 24x40 cm is needed.

Method of preparation :

Put 1 tablespoon of sugar and dry yeast in warm milk, stir and leave for 5 minutes to dissolve the yeast.

You can then knead the dough in a food processor, with a mixer or by hand. If you use any of the appliances, add the ingredients in the order in which they are listed above.

In case you will knead the dough by hand, first grind the flour together with the butter. Then make a dent in the middle of the mixture and pour the milk with the yeast into it. Stir with a fork, add the egg and knead.

Shape the dough into a ball, cover it with cling film and place in the fridge for half an hour.

The stuffing.

Pour boiling water over the dried apricots and let them stay in it until soft.
Beat the cream cheese with the sugar. The consistency should become creamy.

Then grease the pan with butter or oil.

Remove the dough from the refrigerator, roll out into a rectangle with approximate dimensions 24x40 centimeters.

Cut the shorter sides from the end to the center, making the cuts about 6 inches long and about 3 inches apart.

On top of the rectangle that forms in the middle, spread the cream cheese, then the apricots, slightly drained of water.

Turn the strips on the side of the base over the filling and transfer the dough to a tray. Cover with cling film or cloth and leave for 30-45 minutes.

Then smear the beaten yolk with 1 teaspoon of water on the surface and bake the pie at 190 degrees until golden (about 30-40 minutes).
