Required products :

  • 1 teaspoon mashed sweet potatoes (boiled)
  • 4 tea cups flour + more if needed
  • 1/2 teaspoon warm water + 1 tbsp
  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Method of preparation :

Mix 1/2 tea cup of flour with the same amount of warm water, add the yeast and leave for 15 minutes to activate.

Add the mashed potatoes (make sure they have reached room temperature) and stir. Add 1 egg, melted butter, honey, salt and 3 more cups of flour. Mix well with a wooden spoon for 2-3 minutes.

If you think the dough is very sticky, add more flour to get a soft elastic dough, knead for about 2 minutes.

Transfer the dough to a well floured surface and knead and shape into a ball. Grease the bowl and roll the dough on both sides in the fat, then cover the dish and leave to rise for 2 hours until it doubles in volume.

Knead the kitchen counter again and knead the dough. Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1.5 centimeters and cut 16 circles.

Carefully transfer the dough balls to a tray lined with paper. Wait another time for the cakes to rise for about 45 minutes.

Preheat oven to 200 degrees.

Mix 1 egg with 1 teaspoon of water. Spread the resulting mixture on the cakes and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Bake them for about 15 minutes, until they swell and turn golden.
