Necessary products:

  • 500 g of potatoes
  • 500 g of beef
  • a few carrots
  • 1 stalk leek
  • a few hot peppers
  • 10 grains of black pepper
  • whole
  • spices (garlic, thyme, nutmeg)
  • bottle of red wine
  • 1 tsp milk or cream (for puree)
  • 50 g butter (for puree)
  • yellow cheese for sprinkling

Method of preparation:

Cut the vegetables into large pieces, add the meat to them in portions and pour the wine. Leave to marinate for two days in the refrigerator or 1 day if at room temperature. Then remove the meat and fry it in a large amount of oil. Then bring the marinade of wine and vegetables to a boil. Put the fried meat in a saucepan with wine and leave on low heat for 2-3 hours. 30 minutes before the meat is completely cooked, add spices (thyme, a few chopped garlic cloves).

Cut the finished meat into small pieces, strain the marinade (remove the vegetables and try to remove the fat). Pour over the meat and place on the stove until the liquid evaporates (about 20 minutes).

Boil the potatoes whole, peel them and mash them. Grate a little nutmeg in it, add the milk and butter and stir.

Take a suitable form, place half of the mashed potatoes on the bottom, then a layer of meat and finish with a layer of the remaining mashed potatoes. Sprinkle with grated yellow cheese and grated butter on a cold grater.

Bake for about 30 minutes at 200 degrees. The casserole is delicious and cold.
