Necessary products (for 4-5 servings):

80 grams of smoked bacon

1 large onion

600 grams of potatoes (preferably fresh)

100 grams of cream

2 eggs

40 grams of butter

salt and ground black pepper - to taste

Method of preparation:

Cut the bacon into cubes and fry it at a moderate temperature to melt the fat. Put it on a paper towel to drain. In the same pan in which you fried it, fry the finely chopped onion, stirring, over medium heat until dark.

Grate the potatoes, wash them several times with cold water and squeeze with a cotton cloth.

In a deep bowl, mix the potatoes, fried onions, bacon, cream, egg yolks, salt, pepper.

Preheat oven to 180 degrees.

Beat the egg whites until thick and mix with the other products. Grease the pan in which you will bake with oil and pour the mixture into it. Put pieces of oil on its surface.

Bake until golden and crispy (about an hour). The potatoes should soften completely.

You can serve with cream or fried onions.
