How To Cook Potato Roll With Plum, Almond And Poppy Jam - Recipe

Required products :

  • 700 grams of potatoes
  • 120 grams of semolina
  • 120 grams of coarsely ground flour
  • 50 grams of plain flour
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 100 grams of plum jam
  • 40 grams of almonds
  • 20 grams of raisins
  • 20 grams of grated honey cakes / gingerbread
  • 80 grams of poppy seeds
  • 50 grams of butter
  • 50 grams of honey

Method of preparation :

Boil the potatoes until ready whole and without peeling them beforehand. When cool, peel and grind using a meat grinder. Add semolina, flour, egg yolks, salt to taste. Knead the potato dough, which you roll out into a rectangle 2 cm thick.
Spread this base with the plum jam, to which you have added the grated gingerbread, the raisins and the peeled finely chopped almonds.

Form a roll, wrap it in a towel, tie with a suitable thick string and put in boiling salted water. Let it cook for 20 minutes. In the middle of cooking, turn the roll on the other side.
Once removed from the water, allow it to cool, remove the fabric and cut the roll into pieces. Roll them in poppy seeds and serve with melted butter and honey.
