How To Cook Potato Schnitzel - Recipe

Required products :

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 kg of peeled potatoes
  • 1/3 tea cup wholemeal flour
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • green onions or chives for garnish

Method of preparation :

Preheat oven to 200 degrees.

Beat the eggs in a large bowl, add the onion, baking powder, black pepper and salt and stir.

Grate the potatoes, wrap them in a kitchen towel and squeeze out the excess liquid. Add the grated potatoes to the egg mixture, stir, pour in the flour and homogenize.

Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet. Fry 4 potato schnitzels until golden brown on both sides (about 2-3 minutes per side). Repeat until the potato mixture is finished.

Bake the potato schnitzels for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove, cool for 5-10 minutes, sprinkle with chives or green onions if desired and serve.
