Required products :

  • 900 grams of sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into thin slices
  • 1 clove of garlic, halved
  • 500 milliliters of fresh milk
  • 115 grams of butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon grated cheese

Method of preparation :

  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  • Rub the bottom and walls of 4 pots with the halved clove of garlic.
  • Heat the milk and butter in a large saucepan over medium heat until bubbles begin to form on the rim.
  • Add the potato slices, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Stir and bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and cook for about 10 minutes.
  • Spread the mixture in the pots and sprinkle with the grated cheese.
  • Bake for about 1 hour and 15 minutes until golden brown or until the potatoes absorb the milk mixture and the cheese melts.
  • Serve the pots warm and enjoy.
