Required products :
3 1/2 tea cups thick pumpkin puree (boiled and mashed)
3/4 tea cup of apple juice
1 teaspoon sugar (or to taste)
vanilla
2 - 3 cinnamon sticks
nutmeg and cloves to taste
Method of preparation :
Boil peeled pumpkin in a small amount of water, mash it or grind with a blender. Add all other products except cloves and nutmeg. Stir and bring to a boil (use a thick-bottomed saucepan). Reduce the heat to low and let the puree cook for 40 minutes without closing the pan with a lid and stirring often. At the end of cooking, remove the cinnamon sticks and add the cloves and nutmeg. The mixture can be stored in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks. It is ideal for spreading on a slice.
