How To Cook Red Lentil Porridge With Ginger And Garlic - Recipe

Required products :

  • 2 tea cups red lentils
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 2 teaspoons hot water
  • 1 piece of ginger / about 2.5 centimeters /, peeled and grated
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • freshly ground black pepper

For garnish :

  • coconut milk
  • mix from seeds
  • fresh parsley leaves

Method of preparation :

 

  • Rinse the lentils under cold running water and allow to drain.
  • Heat the coconut oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add onion, garlic, ginger and turmeric. Cook for about 2 minutes, stirring often.
  • Add the lentils and water and cook for 15 minutes.
  • Season with garam masala and coconut milk. Stir.
  • Let the lentils simmer for another 5 minutes until they absorb the liquid and a thick paste is obtained. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  • Divide into bowls, garnish with a little coconut milk, seeds and fresh parsley and serve.
