Required products :

300 grams of rice

1 onion

6 strips of bacon

1 liter of hot vegetable broth

100 grams of frozen peas

2 tablespoons olive oil (or butter)

Parmesan and freshly ground black pepper to serve - optional

Method of preparation :

Finely chop the onion and fry it in olive oil until browned (about 7 minutes). Then add the bacon, cut into small pieces and fry for another 5 minutes, it should become crispy. Put the rice, pour the broth and wait for it to boil. Stir well and reduce the temperature. Cook for 15 - 20 minutes with the lid closed until the rice is semi-finished. Then add the peas, a little salt, pepper and cook for another 3 minutes (or until the peas are ready).

Serve the garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and freshly ground black pepper.
