  • 3 tablespoons finely chopped ginger
  • 4 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp basmati rice
  • cornstarch

Method of preparation:

Wash the rice several times with cold water and boil it according to the instructions. Cut the cheese into large cubes (2 cm) and roll them in starch (shake to drop the excess). If you have larger onions, cut them in half, finely chop the garlic and pepper, and green onions - in sticks of 3-4 cm. Heat a frying pan with a thick bottom and pour a little oil (0.2 cm) , bake the tofu cubes twice until golden brown. Then place them on a paper towel to drain off excess fat.

Reduce heat and fry for 15 minutes shallots, ginger, chili peppers and garlic, stirring. Vegetables should be obtained glossy and soft. Then add the two types of soy sauce, sugar, pepper and a little water (for example 1/2 tsp). Stir and bring to a boil. Then return the cheese to the pan, add the green onions and leave on the fire for about 2 minutes. The tofu should be covered and soaked in a shiny caramel sauce.

Serve the appetizer on a bed of boiled rice.
