How To Cook Roast Turkey With Mayonnaise And Fresh Herbs - Recipe

Required products :

  • 1 whole turkey
  • 6-7 leaves of fresh sage, cut in bulk
  • 5-6 stalks of fresh thyme
  • 2-3 sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • 2-3 stalks of fresh oregano
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons mayonnaise
  • 1-2 tablespoons coarse salt
  • 1-2 tablespoons black pepper
  • 3 stalks of celery, cut in bulk
  • 1 large onion, cut into large pieces
  • 1/2 cup salted butter

Method of preparation :

 

  • Preheat oven to 230 degrees and place the turkey in a baking tray.
  • Transfer the mayonnaise to a medium bowl and add the fresh herb leaves. Stir well.
  • Smear the bird profusely with the mixture, including the cavity.
  • Season with salt and pepper both inside and out.
  • Put onion, celery and butter in the cavity of the turkey.
  • Bake for about 30 minutes in a preheated oven to 230 degrees, then reduce the temperature to 180 degrees.
  • Cook for another hour or until the meat is fully cooked. The weather will vary according to the size of the bird.
  • Remove the roasted turkey from the oven, wrap it in aluminum foil and let it rest for at least 20-30 minutes before cutting.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the gravy sauce using the separated juices in the pan.
  • Cut, garnish and serve.
